I’ve been trying to figure that out myself for years now too.

I was to slow and I lost them all.

They were at a full sprint and I was on a jog.

I made sisters and brothers.

We practically lived together,

and now they’re gone.

I was lost for eight months

and it was too long.

The start of the end,

we drifted apart.

I urged them to get close, 

then pushed them away.

Pushed to the edge,

I would give them my hand and pull them back in.

Only to repeat it all over again.

But hey, this stuff happens.

Apologies can be made,

then accepted or denied.

Hurt or not,

life can’t wait

time moves on.

no matter how much you wish for it…
